Celebrating

After much time and anticipation, we are finally celebrating as we just found out that Ryan was offered the job!!! Mr. Ross is now a full-time high school biology teacher for Shawnee Mission North, and I couldn't be any more excited to type those very words! He will also be known as Coach Ross because as of today, he landed the title of Baseball C-Team Coach. Needless to say, it's been a pretty good day here in our Roost...

Congratulations Ryan!!!

Lucky

I am lucky for so many reasons, but this morning I feel particularly lucky to be able to sit here at my kitchen table and witness a beautiful day unfold with a sunrise to start off with. Tea in hand, cat in the lap, and pup asleep at my feet :)

Leaps

A week ago today was a big day for me. Friday was my last day as a nanny for these two sweet little girls, Thrisha and Havisha. It was a nostalgic day as I said good-bye to the girls and their parents, but it was a happy day as well, knowing I am starting a new adventure. In the new adventure, I will be delving into my artistic qualities; opening an etsy shop which will include abstract paintings and organic crocheted items. (More to come on the Etsy shop, still working out lots of details :) ) I've never been so excited and happy to be able to stay home, take care of my awesome husband, and work on art projects all day!

Here are some fun pictures of the sweet little girls I have come to know over the past six months.

Meet Woo-see

Woo-see is the name given to one of our cats by my mother, who absolutely adores her. She also responds to Uncle Moneybags, Fatty-boom-batty, and of course her real name: Lucy. Her fetishes include feet, being vigorously petted (sometimes seeming way to harsh for a cat to like, but she just purrs away), and a big obvious one- tuna. At times, it may seem that Lucy is missing a few vital connections in her wondrous brain, but we still love her all the same. On our window sill, behind the curtains on her pillow, is where you can usually find a Lucy basking in the sun.

Jackson is One Year Old!

Exactly one year ago on Saturday, Ryan and I (along with many other family members) were sitting in a hospital waiting room in Lawrence, KS, impatiently waiting for a little boy named Jackson to make his joyful appearance into the world. Watching him grow into the happy-go-lucky, sweet boy that he is has been absolutely delightful to watch. Here are a few photos from his very first birthday party!

What a beautiful family.

We took some family photos outside in the nice weather- much different than this time last year!! So much effort was put into getting the kiddos to smile on cue, way to go everyone!

What a handsome husband I have :)

Justin (Jackson's dad) had a balloon tied to their house and the kids were wonderstruck as they stared at it blowing in the wind, high above the house.

Addyson is such a cutie!

Cake time!

Happy first birthday baby Jackson! Can't wait to see what year 2 brings :)
